The entire workflow is deliberately minimal: create an invoice, pay, receive an email address and access token, then start sending and receiving messages immediately. The service offers both a web interface and a REST API, making it usable for manual correspondence or automated workflows like 2FA code ingestion and Bitcoin app notifications. HTML content is stripped to plain text for security, which reduces phishing surface but also limits rich formatting. Privacy & KYC

LNemail operates at KYC Tier L0—Trustless, meaning no account registration is required at any stage. The operator's own terms explicitly state "No KYC, Ever" and commit to never collecting personal identification. This is not marketing language; the architecture makes collection structurally impossible because there is no signup form to fill out.

LNemail is non-custodial in spirit but custodial in practice: the operator hosts mailboxes and routes messages, yet holds no user funds beyond the satoshis paid for service. Users must store this token safely—lose it, and the inbox is unrecoverable. However, the platform is not a ProtonMail or Tutanota replacement for daily rich-text correspondence.
